An exhausted Hartland team walks off the field after losing 14-13 in double overtime to Brighton in the regional finals.

Hartland's season came to end Saturday afternoon in dramatic fashion — losing to league rival Brighton in double overtime, 14-13.

The game was close for the entire 50 minutes. Hartland jumped out to a 3-0 lead and went into halftime up 7-6. Brighton came out in the second half with a couple of goals to take the lead, then Hartland fought back hard to even it up — sending the game into overtime. Both teams traded goals in the first overtime, then it went to a second overtime where sudden death rules apply. Brighton won the draw and scored on their first possession. Game over.

Rachel Sharpe and Ryan Skomial scored four goals each for Hartland. Haley Crouse added two and Courtney Lee, Taylor Pryde and Annie Quinn had one each.
