Hartland loses by one in shoot-out

The varsity women's team lost their first game of the year to Huron Valley United, 14-13.

After a slow start, the girls fought back and scored seven goals — going into half-time down 9-7. Hartland came out strong in the second half and took an early lead. Then Huron Valley battled back and the two teams traded scores the rest of the game. It went down to the final seconds, but time ran out before Hartland could tie it up.

Leading all scorers for Hartland with four goals was Anna Lundwall who had an amazing second half. Nikki Cerovec and Rachel Sharpe each added two goals. Rounding-out the scoring was Lindsay Kaza, Ashley Devine, Natalie Sochacki, Ashley Stoltenberg and Haley Crouse with one goal each. Kelsey LaValley faced 30 shots and made 16 saves.

Hartland faces rival Brighton this Friday in Hartland. Game time is set for 7:00pm. Should be a BIG game for Hartland coming off tonight's loss.
