Hartland Pounces on Huron Valley with 18-1 Win
After last seasons disappointing loss in the state championship game, Hartland was eager to get back on the field. A new season helps wash away the disappiontment and brings new joy to the game. Not only is Hartland starting with a clean slate, they have a new coach. Deanna Radcliffe, who departed from South Lyon, is walking the sidelines and guiding the girls on their new jouney.
The game started slowly for Hartland. They managed to struggle to control the draw and then played sloppy on the offensive end. The defense pushed back and held Huron Valley scoreless. Hartland goal keeper, Tabitha Ferguson, stopped some shots as the defense played well in front of her. The offense capitalized off of some Huron Valley turnovers and then the offensive fireworks started.
Leading Hartland was senior, Natalie Sochaki. She scored five goals and had three assists. Senior, Ryan Skomial, followed with four goals. Sophmore Amy Longe and freshman Cassie Pankowsi each scored a hat trick. On the defensive end, sophmore Danie Porath, led with five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Hartland hosts Grand Blanc this Wednesday at 7pm.
