Hartland Raises Money And Takes a Win
The girls from Hartland put on quite a show last night. Not only did they remain undefeated, they helped raise over $1,600 for breast cancer research. With the help from the community and the businesses in the area, the game was well attended on a really cold night. There was a silent auction of gift cards, golfing, camping membership, bird houses, and services from businesses in the area.
The girls middle school lacrosse program showed up in numbers and helped get the high school varsity team going. They cheered on their older counterparts and watched a very entertaining game. Hartland led the whole game and never looked back. The large lead allowed for bench players to get some more playing time and allow them to develop.
Seniors, Ryan Skomial and Natalie Sochaki lead the way with four goals each. Amy Longe followed that up with three goals of her own. Ashley Collins and Annelise Kulpanowski each scored two goals. Brooke Eicher, Amber Crouse, Hana Barnett, Sara Wanko, Faye Bontekoe, and Cassie Pankowski each had a goal.
Goalies Tabitha Ferguson and Brooke Eicher played well and kept Huron Valley at bay. Hartland travels to Rockford this Saturday for tournament against some of the best teams the west side of the state has to offer.
