Hartland Varsity Goes Undefeated in Tournament

Hartland Girls Compete in East Grand Rapids Tournament
The Hartland varsity lacrosse team won all three games in Saturday's tournament in East Grand Rapids.

What a way to start the season! The varsity team traveled to East Grand Rapids on Saturday (March 26) to play in the Round Robin Tournament.

Hartland faced Portage first and won that game 9-1. Scoring for Hartland were Hailey Crouse (four goals), Rachael Sharpe (two goals), and Natalie Sochacki, Ryan Skomial and Courtney Lee scoring one goal each.

Hartland continued where they left off in the first game by beating Battle Creek 8-2 in the second game of the day. Ryan Skomial had four goals and Taylor Pryde had two goals. Hailey Crouse and Natalie Sochacki each scored one goal.

To finish the tournament undefeated, Hartland went up against a very good East Grand Rapids team and held their own. The game was very close in the first half, then Hartland turned it on in the second half to come away with an impressive 7-4 victory. Scoring for Hartland were Ryan Skomial (three goals), and each with one goal were Courtney Lee, Racheal Sharpe, Natalie Sochacki and Taylor Pryde. Senior goalie Kelsey Lavalley was outstanding in the 7-4 victory.

Hartland's next game is home on Wed. March 30 vs Waterford United.
