State Finals: Hartland 11, Birmingham Seaholm 12
It was a heartbreaking way to end a great season, but make no mistake about it — it was a GREAT season!
Hartland traveled to the the Division I State Finals in Rockford on Saturday followed by a caravan of fans and supporters. We even had a fire truck lead us out of the high school parking lot and some crazy guy stopping traffic so the send-off chain wouldn't get broken. Great memories for the girls.
When we arrived in Rockford the tailgating began — most parents having known each other for several years as our group of a dozen or so senior girls have been playing lacrosse since the 7th grade. Wow, how the time flies.
Our girls — this amazing group of talented players and personalities — played through thick and thin throughout the season. Saturday was the result of a ton of hard work — getting to the State Division I Finals! What a huge success!
I can go on and on about the details of the game, but I'll let you read them on livingstondaily.com and hartland.patch.com. Yes, we lost in overtime, 12-11, but what an outstanding display of athletic achievement.
Ladies, you made Hartland very proud. Thank you for such a great season, and seniors, thank you for the many years of memories. We love you all!
When it comes to women's lacrosse, Hartland is now firmly on the map as a powerful opponent with a State Finals appearance on the books. Congrats to all involved with helping build this program to where it it is today.
